About the Role:
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join our dynamic and fast-growing team in the San Francisco Bay Area. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a high-performing team of engineers, drive the technical direction of our projects, and ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality solutions at scale. Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of engineers, helping them grow both technically and professionally.
- Technical Oversight: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our software applications, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams such as product, design, and operations to align engineering efforts with business objectives.
- Project Management: Drive project planning, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful and timely delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by leading code reviews, promoting agile methodologies, and advocating for technical excellence.
- Recruitment & Hiring: Assist in building a top-tier engineering team by participating in the hiring process and ensuring that we attract and retain exceptional talent.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, etc.).
- Strong proficiency in backend development, cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure), and modern software engineering practices.
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proven track record in team management, including performance reviews, mentoring, and fostering growth.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire engineers.
- Ability to drive technical decision-making and own the engineering roadmap.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing hybrid or remote teams.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working with big data or high-traffic applications.
- Prior work in a startup or high-growth tech environment.
- Knowledge of security practices, scalability, and performance optimization.
