Job Description

Join Colliers Engineering & Design as an Electrical Engineering Department Manager – Mission Critical/Data Centers and lead the Buildings Engineering Services team across multiple U.S. locations, including Phoenix, Arizona, Albany, New York, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, Lansing, Michigan, Texas, and Seattle, Washington. This leadership role focuses on delivering high-quality electrical engineering solutions for mission-critical facilities, including data centers, while guiding team performance and strategic growth.

About the Role

As the Department Manager, you will oversee electrical engineering operations, manage technical teams, and ensure project excellence across a wide range of building and infrastructure initiatives. From load analysis to complex electrical system design and sustainable building solutions, you will help deliver innovative engineering outcomes that improve performance and reliability.

The role also involves strategic planning, mentoring engineers, managing profitability, and contributing to business development initiatives aligned with company goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and manage operations to ensure high-quality technical deliverables
  • Establish long-term objectives, goals, and operational plans for the team
  • Lead and mentor electrical engineers within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Provide technical expertise and management leadership across projects
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives aligned with discipline goals
  • Monitor productivity, labor utilization, and project profitability
  • Assign projects, schedule work, and evaluate employee performance
  • Advise other departments requiring specialized electrical engineering expertise

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience as an Electrical Engineer
  • Experience with Mission Critical/Data Center projects
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
  • Proven leadership experience managing large engineering teams
  • Proficiency with design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and AGI
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Compensation

$145,000 – $209,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
