We are seeking a skilled Drupal Web Developer to join a collaborative team supporting web sites and online applications for a government research institute. This role involves both front-end and back-end development, site-building, and contributing to innovative solutions for existing websites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Drupal websites and applications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and execute web projects, both small and large.
  • Work independently on coding tasks and review peers’ work for quality.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and document work in tracking systems.
  • Stay up to date with emerging web technologies and implement new solutions.
  • Adapt priorities based on project or customer needs.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 3–4 years of professional web development experience.
  • Proficiency in Drupal site-building and familiarity with both front-end and back-end workflows.
  • Strong experience with PHP, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, and XML.
  • Experience coding HTML pages manually (no WYSIWYG) and implementing/modifying JavaScript/jQuery.
  • Knowledge of responsive design, basic image editing, and web page layout principles.
  • Working experience with databases (Oracle or SQL).
  • Proficiency in version control systems (Git, Subversion).
  • Understanding of typography, layout, usability, and 508 accessibility compliance.
