Job Details

  • Job Title: Drupal Web Developer
  • Work with a team of web and application developers to support websites and online applications for a government research institute.
  • Work on both small and larger projects while collaborating with colleagues.
  • Suggest solutions to improve existing websites.
  • Attend daily meetings to discuss goals for the day and week.
  • Work independently on web change edits and coding and review colleagues’ work.
  • Communicate with customers and document work/time details in the job tracking system.
  • Investigate and learn emerging technologies and adjust priorities when customer priorities change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support websites and online applications with the development team.
  • Complete tasks quickly and carefully on different project sizes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in daily planning discussions.
  • Perform web change edits and coding tasks.
  • Review work completed by colleagues.
  • Communicate with customers.
  • Maintain documentation of work and time in the job tracking system.
  • Learn new technologies and remain flexible with changing priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • 3–4 years of working experience in Web Development.

Skills

  • Drupal site-building experience with strong familiarity with front-end and back-end.
  • Knowledge of PHP programming language.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, SASS, JavaScript, jQuery, and XML.
  • Experience in web page layout with CSS and coding HTML pages (no WYSIWYG).
  • Experience modifying and implementing JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Working knowledge of responsive design and basic image editing.
  • Skills in Version Control, interactive media, typography, and layout.
  • Basic knowledge of usability and 508 compliance.
  • Experience working with databases (Oracle or SQL).
  • Strong version control skills (subversion, git) highly desired.
