Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Django, Python, and Azure Cloud to lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend systems. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and architecture decision-making, with a strong focus on data processing and analytics using Azure Databricks and PySpark.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development & Architecture
- Lead the development of backend systems using Django and Python.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs.
- Participate in architecture design and key technical decision-making.
- Ensure backend systems meet performance, reliability, and security standards.
Cloud & Data Engineering
- Integrate and manage Azure Cloud services for application deployment and operations.
- Utilize Azure Databricks for big data processing and analytics.
- Build and maintain data processing pipelines using PySpark.
- Work with Delta Lake / Delta tables for efficient data storage and processing.
Data Management & Optimization
- Optimize database performance and manage data storage solutions.
- Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to support application and analytics needs.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
Process & Quality
- Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
- Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable codebases.
- Use Git-based workflows for version control and collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with Azure Cloud services.
- Strong experience using Azure Databricks and PySpark.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
- Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
