Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Django, Python, and Azure Cloud to lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend systems. This role combines hands-on engineering, technical leadership, and architecture decision-making, with a strong focus on data processing and analytics using Azure Databricks and PySpark.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Development & Architecture

  • Lead the development of backend systems using Django and Python.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs.
  • Participate in architecture design and key technical decision-making.
  • Ensure backend systems meet performance, reliability, and security standards.

Cloud & Data Engineering

  • Integrate and manage Azure Cloud services for application deployment and operations.
  • Utilize Azure Databricks for big data processing and analytics.
  • Build and maintain data processing pipelines using PySpark.
  • Work with Delta Lake / Delta tables for efficient data storage and processing.

Data Management & Optimization

  • Optimize database performance and manage data storage solutions.
  • Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases to support application and analytics needs.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting technical excellence and knowledge sharing.

Process & Quality

  • Ensure adherence to Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning and reviews.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented, and testable codebases.
  • Use Git-based workflows for version control and collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with Azure Cloud services.
  • Strong experience using Azure Databricks and PySpark.
  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
