Role Overview

As Director, Product Marketing, you will lead a team of Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) to craft compelling narratives around Twilio’s Messaging and Email offerings. You will influence R&D, sales, and marketing teams, ensuring product stories resonate with both developer and enterprise audiences. This role combines strategic leadership, storytelling, and go-to-market execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing PMM team across Messaging and Email.
  • Define product positioning frameworks connecting innovation to market trends, customer needs, and business outcomes.
  • Influence roadmap prioritization with R&D and embed customer validation into product marketing processes.
  • Drive integrated go-to-market programs for self-service and enterprise segments.
  • Lead product launches, ensuring strategic positioning, proof points, and alignment with GTM efforts.
  • Identify intersections with broader Twilio platform capabilities and develop cohesive messaging.
  • Partner across functions (AR, PR, Campaigns, Sales) to amplify messaging and product adoption.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years in product or technical marketing, preferably in communications infrastructure, messaging platforms, SaaS, or developer tools.
  • 3+ years managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, narrative-building, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to influence across R&D, AR, PR, Campaigns, Sales, and executives.
  • Experience launching products, shaping positioning, and building programs that drive revenue or market impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with developer and enterprise audiences.
  • Background in messaging, email, CPaaS, marketing automation, or developer-focused communications APIs.

  • Experience in fast-growing technology companies scaling teams, processes, or narratives.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn Twilio’s platform and bring fresh perspective.

Compensation (Location-Based Estimates)

  • Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont, D.C.: $207,200 – $259,000
  • New York, New Jersey, Washington State, California (non-SF Bay Area): $219,360 – $274,200
  • San Francisco Bay Area, CA: $243,680 – $304,600
  • Eligible for equity plan and corporate bonus
