About the Role:
We are seeking an exceptional Director of Data Science to lead and scale our high-performing data science organization. In this strategic and technical role, you will oversee the development and deployment of machine learning models and advanced analytics that power our core products, optimize operations, and drive business growth.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who combines deep expertise in data science and AI with the ability to align teams around business goals, mentor talent, and influence executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, ML engineers, and analysts
  • Define and execute the data science strategy aligned with organizational objectives and product roadmap
  • Drive development of advanced models and algorithms for personalization, forecasting, optimization, risk, or AI-powered product features
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, marketing, and operations leaders to prioritize data initiatives and ensure measurable business impact
  • Oversee end-to-end lifecycle of ML/AI models from research to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, scientific rigor, ethical AI, and continuous learning
  • Represent data science at the executive level, providing guidance on KPIs, experimentation, and innovation strategy

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven track record of building and scaling data science teams in high-growth or product-driven organizations
  • Deep knowledge of ML/AI techniques (supervised learning, unsupervised learning, NLP, deep learning, causal inference) and statistical modeling
  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and data science toolkits (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow/PyTorch, MLflow)
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills; able to present complex insights to executives and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in industries such as e-commerce, fintech, healthcare, SaaS, or consumer tech
  • Familiarity with modern data stacks and MLOps tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Docker, SageMaker)
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder influence
  • Contributions to research, patents, or open-source data science projects
