Job Description

Job Title: Snowflake Architect/DBA

Industry Sector: IT Consulting/Database Management

Experience Level: Senior

Location: Prefer candidate local to Alpharetta, Chicago, NY, NJ, or Cali MS offices

Pay Rate: $65-70/hr W2

Key Responsibilities:

○ Design and architect database solutions on Snowflake data cloud platform, AWS, Azure, and Databricks.

○ Manage and optimize the performance, security, and reliability of databases in the Snowflake Data Cloud platform.

○ Plan and manage disaster recovery strategies and data retention policies.

○ Deploy, right-size, and manage Snowflake virtual warehouses.

○ Implement and manage security measures like data encryption, access controls, and network policies.

○ Automate standard database processes using Unix Shell scripting and Python.

○ Develop new automation scripts in Python and write unit tests.

○ Enhance and troubleshoot existing Unix shell scripts.

Required Certifications/Education:

○ Relevant certifications in Snowflake, AWS, or Azure (optional but preferred)

○ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Additional Requirements:

○ 7+ years of experience as a Snowflake Architect/DBA

○ Hands-on expertise with Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, SnowPipe, SnowPark, Python, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Optimizer, Metadata Manager, data sharing, and stored procedures.

○ In-depth understanding of Data Warehouse/ODS, ETL concepts, and modeling structure principles

○ Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements

Experience designing and implementing production-grade data warehousing solutions on large-scale data technologies such as Snowflake, DB2, and SAP IQ
