Netflix is hiring an experienced Remote Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize large-scale databases supporting our global applications. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance tuning, and security of critical data systems. You’ll collaborate with developers, engineers, and data teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $10 – $15, depending on experience and skill set.

Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases

Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning

Optimize queries and improve database performance

Implement monitoring, alerts, and capacity planning

Ensure database security, compliance, and data integrity

Support developers with schema design and stored procedures

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly

️ Required Skills

Strong expertise in MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server

Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB)

Experience with performance tuning & query optimization

Knowledge of cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL)

Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments & scripting

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Experience

2–5 years of hands-on database administration experience

Prior remote work experience preferred
