Position Overview

A leading technology company is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist to develop machine learning models and advanced analytical solutions for its water utility intelligence platform. This role focuses on leveraging IoT data, predictive analytics, and production-grade machine learning systems to drive operational efficiency and support water conservation initiatives. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, train, and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics, forecasting, and optimization within water utility systems.
  • Analyze large-scale IoT and sensor data to identify trends, anomalies, and operational improvement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and production ML workflows.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and domain experts to translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
  • Perform data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Monitor model performance and implement continuous improvement strategies in production environments.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through dashboards, reports, and presentations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar).
  • Experience working with large datasets, data preprocessing, and predictive modeling.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data science or machine learning roles.
  • Experience with IoT data, time-series analysis, or sensor data analytics.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and production ML deployment.
  • Experience in water utilities, environmental analytics, or sustainability-focused projects.
