What We Do

The intern will work in a program designed to help college students gain experience and develop the technology, professional and interpersonal skills to use throughout their career. First American Interns work in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title Industry—balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities—while under the close supervision and guidance of a manager and/or mentor. We are looking for a Data Science intern to join our program!

To qualify, candidates will possess the following:
• Proficiency in working with data and understanding how to work with structured/unstructured datasets and Big Data.
• Hands on experience working with major Cloud technology platforms.
• The ability to meet with users and understand their high-level technical requirements.
• An ingrained concern for the customer and representing our Company in the best professional manner as possible.
• The potential to excel in the following competencies: Communication, Customer Focus, Ethics & Integrity, Teamwork & Adaptability, Productivity & Initiative.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• College level foundational courses for machine learning or deep learning.
• Good understanding of Statistics.
• General understanding of machine learning pipelines and coding experience in Python.

Expected area of focus would be analysis of the various cloud technologies relative to:
• Suitability for our data and use cases
• Performance
• Ease of use
• Available tools

Expected technologies would be:
• Python
• Azure
• Cloudera
• Snowflake

Expected activities and results would include:
• Interviews/discussions with the team to understand our needs
• Comparative analysis of the technologies relative to our technical needs
• Report of the results
• Presentation to the team

Typical Education
• College/University students enrolled in a graduate program, CS or CIS majors, with 0-2 years’ of work experience.

Pay Range: $24.00 – $30.00 Hourly

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location
