Data Science Intern

Job Description

ATI seeks an engineering intern to conduct thermomechanical testing and data analysis in Specialty Rolled Products R&D.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:
• Use the Gleeble machine to test different alloys at various temperature ranges (training provided)
• Analyze test data and write reports with processing recommendations
• Interface with project engineers requesting testing services
• Perform research on prior test data related to projects
• Conduct additional analyses such as SEM imaging and submit samples for outside testing as needed

About You

The company is looking for:
• Engineering major in Metallurgical, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical disciplines
• Good writing skills and basic understanding of statistics
• Ability to work with complex machinery
• Preferred experience in metals industry or material testing (Gleeble, dilatometry, SEM imaging)
• Proficiency in Excel and/or Origin
• High motivation, drive, and urgency
• Drive for continuous improvement and results
• Ability to learn quickly
