Role Overview

Data Center Operations designs, installs, and maintains one of the world’s largest cloud computing infrastructures. As a Data Centre Linux & Hardware Engineer, you will be part of the operations team responsible for maintaining the reliability, scalability, and operational stability of AWS data center environments in India.

This is a hands-on technical role involving server hardware, Linux systems, networking troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance within large-scale, high-density data center facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Hardware Operations

  • Install, rack, and configure servers and related hardware equipment.
  • Perform hardware break-fix, diagnostics, and component replacements.
  • Troubleshoot server, storage, and network connectivity issues.
  • Respond to operational incidents impacting infrastructure stability.

Linux & Systems Support

  • Support Linux-based systems and data center environments.
  • Execute maintenance tasks and operational workflows through ticketing systems.
  • Participate in change management and scheduled maintenance activities.

Operations & Incident Management

  • Meet SLAs for assigned trouble tickets and service requests.
  • Act as a primary technical contact for internal teams and external vendors.
  • Perform on-call duties and participate in incident response.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and process improvements.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings for performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Support training and mentoring of junior technicians (for experienced hires).

Work Environment

  • Physical activities including lifting equipment up to ~20 kg.
  • Working in confined spaces or elevated locations while following safety protocols.
  • Rotational shift operations supporting 24×7 data center availability.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • 1+ year of networking experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting customers during technical issue resolution.
  • Ability to operate efficiently in high-pressure environments.
  • Experience in data center or IT infrastructure environments (preferred).
