Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for talented Data Center Technicians to support operations across its global cloud infrastructure.
🚀 Role Overview
As a Data Center Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining AWS data center operations by performing server installations, hardware troubleshooting, and network diagnostics to ensure continuous service availability.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
• Install and maintain server racks and hardware components
• Perform break-fix repairs and troubleshoot network issues (Layer 1/2)
• Respond to incidents affecting service availability
• Conduct routine maintenance on servers, hardware, and operating systems
• Collaborate with engineers, vendors, contractors, and internal teams
• Participate in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance
• Support documentation, process improvements, and team training
🎯 Requirements
• 18+ months of IT hardware troubleshooting or related experience
• 18+ months of networking experience (Layer 1/2 troubleshooting)
• Ability to work flexible shifts (nights, weekends, holidays)
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in data center environments
Preferred:
• Data center or critical environment experience
• Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field (Computer Science, Networking, etc.)
• Certifications like CompTIA, CCENT, Network+
• Linux or similar OS knowledge
🌍 Work Environment
• Travel between data center locations may be required
• Possible temporary assignment at other facilities during training
• 24/7 operations with rotating shifts
