Position: Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I
Location: Plain City
Pay Rate: Up to $32.38 per hour

Our client, a leading technology organization, is seeking a Data Center Technical Operations Engineer I to join their Facilities team. This role supports Data Center Engineering Operations and is ideal for candidates who demonstrate strong leadership potential, organizational ability, and attention to detail in a fast-paced technical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee on-site shift technicians, senior technicians, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring compliance with established operational standards and procedures.
  • Develop performance benchmarks, conduct operational analyses, and prepare reports related to critical facility maintenance and performance.
  • Partner with IT managers and cross-functional teams to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and enhance facility safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Operate and support both routine and emergency services for mission-critical systems, including:
    • Switchgear and power distribution systems
    • Generators and UPS systems
    • Chillers and cooling towers
  • Contribute to the design, build-out, and optimization of new and existing facility infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technical Degree (Military or Trade School) with relevant experience.
  • 0–2 years of related professional experience.
  • 0–2 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
