Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree, trade school certification, or certified technical training in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical systems (e.g., electrical distribution, HVAC, air handling units, testing equipment) within an industrial or commercial environment.
- Experience working on projects in a data center or other mission-critical environments and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to achieve goals.
- Hands-on experience in maintenance and operations of electrical or mechanical infrastructure in data centers or equivalent facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in data centers, hospitals, power plants, or transmission operations environments.
- Knowledge of high-voltage electrical substations and mission-critical facility operations.
- Strong understanding of data center infrastructure systems, including:
- Feeders and transformers
- Generators and switchgear
- UPS systems and ATS/STS units
- PDU/PMM units
- Chillers and air handling systems
- CRAC units
- Ability to communicate effectively with contractors performing maintenance or upgrade work.
- Willingness to provide technical support during non-office hours when required.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
About the Role
The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most advanced electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in the world. In this role, you will monitor, maintain, and optimize facility infrastructure to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
You will also contribute to improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining uptime across mission-critical infrastructure systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and improve data center plant efficiency metrics such as PUE and WUE.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise for electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
- Mentor facility technicians and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead commissioning activities, retesting protocols, and major repair coordination.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to resolve technical challenges.
- Act as a primary liaison for quality concerns and operational improvements.
