Amazon Web Services (AWS) internships are full-time, hands-on programs that allow students to engage in real-world projects, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams. Interns contribute to the design, operations, and maintenance of AWS Data Centers, gaining exposure to the technologies and systems that support cloud infrastructure globally.
As a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Intern, you will be the go-to technical resource for your region, working across diverse teams to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operations. You will develop solutions, troubleshoot issues, and participate in projects spanning local and global AWS Data Centers.
🌟 Key Responsibilities
- Perform design and equipment submittal reviews for new data centers in your region
- Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures
- Support operational issues with ad-hoc training, procedure reviews, and critical event management
- Interface with design engineering, server hardware, environmental health & safety teams to maintain consistency and reliability
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS Data Center operations
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, sometimes across geographical regions
💼 Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Expected graduation: Dec 2026 – Sep 2027
- Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics
- Ability to commit to 12-week full-time internship (40 hours/week)
- Physically located in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HVAC, commercial/industrial power systems, or mechanical systems
- Experience with software tools for calculations and data processing
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Prior experience with data center operations or infrastructure projects
