Amazon Web Services (AWS) internships provide students with hands-on, full life-cycle engineering experience in global data centers. As a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer Intern, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to support AWS data centers from design inception to site improvements and maintenance.
You will become a go-to technical resource, using your subject matter expertise to solve complex operational problems, troubleshoot critical systems, and design innovative solutions that support AWS’s mission-critical infrastructure.

🌟 Key Responsibilities
- Conduct design and equipment submittal reviews for new AWS data centers in your region
- Troubleshoot issues, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and document Corrective Actions (CA) for site/equipment failures
- Support operational challenges with training, procedure reviews, and critical event management
- Interface with design engineering, server hardware, and EHS teams to maintain standards and reliability
- Develop innovative solutions for data center infrastructure
- Manage concurrent projects across multiple geographical regions
🎓 Basic Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Available to work 40 hours/week for a 12-week summer internship
- Currently enrolled in a U.S.-based academic program
- Knowledge of Power Systems, Fluid Dynamics, or Thermodynamics
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, with expected graduation December 2026 – September 2027
💼 Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of HVAC systems
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems
- Experience using web-based and software tools for calculation and data processing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
