You will drive product excellence through early engagement, Design for Excellence (DFx) feasibility reviews, and vendor capability assessments to ensure factory readiness and high-quality production outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Process Development
- Lead DFx reviews and generate DFM reports during concept readiness to eliminate design risks before design freeze.
- Validate production readiness using Run-at-Rate validation, line balancing, and takt vs. cycle time analysis.
- Develop process flow diagrams, manufacturing strategies, and material presentation plans to optimize factory logistics.
Quality & Risk Management
- Lead PFMEA activities with risk reduction targets and implement mitigation plans.
- Conduct Pareto analysis, root cause analysis (8D), and corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
- Review process capability reports (Cpk > 1.33), control plans, and Gage R&R during pilot production.
Supplier & Factory Readiness
- Execute vendor capability assessments and factory readiness gap analysis.
- Manage supplier technical evaluations and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Support engineering change orders (ECOs) and re-validation of tooling and fixtures.
Manufacturing Optimization
- Validate test strategies, tooling, and fixture designs with engineering teams.
- Ensure smooth integration of electromechanical assemblies, cooling systems, and networking hardware into production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
- 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in data center equipment, electronics, or automotive production environments.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and production systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt / Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Experience with supplier qualification and relationship management.
- Knowledge of data center infrastructure standards and cooling technologies.
- Experience with engineering design and analysis tools.
- Ability to lead complex projects and mentor junior engineers.
- Strong data analysis skills to identify defects and improve performance metrics.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience in data center hardware manufacturing, server racks, cooling systems, or electromechanical assemblies.
- Proven track record in scaling production from prototype to mass manufacturing.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
