⚡ About the Role
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT), you will serve as a frontline responder responsible for maintaining and operating mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems within AWS data centers.
Reporting to the Data Center Facility Manager (FM), you will ensure 24/7 reliability, safety, and performance of infrastructure systems that power the cloud.
This role may support multiple sites and requires flexibility in scheduling (including 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and rotating schedules).
🔧 Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems
- Monitor and operate BMS (Building Management Systems) and EPMS (Electrical Power Management Systems)
- Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLA
- Perform rack installations and decommissioning
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM), root cause analysis, and repairs
- Support change management through technical documentation and writing
- Manage and close daily work requests
- Oversee contractors and vendors ensuring compliance with procedures and local regulations
- Execute infrastructure projects from conception to completion

🛠 Physical Requirements

🎓 Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience
- 2+ years of Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to work flexible schedules (days, nights, weekends)
- Ability to perform physical job requirements

- 4+ years of data center engineering experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Experience with network design & low-voltage copper/fiber cabling
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mission-critical environments
