Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer to lead the engineering and installation of data center infrastructure projects. This role involves managing complex engineering tasks and integrating all project components into cohesive solutions, including racking systems, server and network equipment, power distribution, and containment solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently in deadline-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineer complete data center solutions including infrastructure, cabinets, racking systems, cable distribution, and power (AC/DC).
  • Design and implement cold aisle containment and equipment layouts.
  • Review site survey data and develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and pricing estimates.
  • Conduct and document site surveys when required.
  • Prepare engineering specifications, technical documentation, and reports.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Update customer drawings and engineering databases using tools such as Visio and AutoCAD.
  • Troubleshoot engineering issues and implement corrective solutions.
  • Coordinate with customers, field engineers, contractors, and installation teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Ensure compliance with installation standards and engineering best practices (including BICSI standards).
  • Participate in site visits to resolve technical challenges and support project delivery.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; technical or college education preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering or field experience in a data center environment.
  • BICSI certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access) and engineering software.
  • Experience with drafting tools such as Visio and AutoCAD.
  • Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.
