Support EPRI’s Generation Sector with data analytics and data science research, gaining hands-on experience in the energy industry.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Participate in EPRI’s Energy Supply summer student internship program at the Charlotte, NC location.
• Collaborate with seasoned professionals and technical mentors in a team environment.
• Attend training, social, and professional networking activities such as lunch and learns, team building, and facility tours.
• Present final project outcomes to peers, mentors, and EPRI technical staff.
About You
The company is looking for:
• Junior or senior undergraduate students, or graduate students (master’s or Ph.D.)
• Typical majors could include, but are not limited to, the following: Engineering / Science – Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science, Data Engineering or similar fields.
• Applied mathematics or computationally-based fields of study
• Coding skills in Python, R, and/or SQL; knowledge of VBS, C++, HTML, or other languages is a plus.
• Willingness to tackle challenges beyond typical knowledge bases and to collaborate with peers.
• Ability to think creatively, offer innovative ideas, and engage with new techniques and technologies.
• Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn from mentors and engineers.
• Preferred qualities include out-of-the-box thinking, solution orientation, inquisitiveness, and willingness to interact with others.
• Certifications, secure coding knowledge, and professional society affiliations are advantageous.
Compensation & Benefits
• Hourly rates: Undergraduate $16-29, Masters $25-31, Ph.D. $27-34 (varies by education, experience, skills, and location).
• Eligibility for Social Security, State Disability Insurance, and Workers’ Compensation Insurance.
• No participation in EPRI’s health insurance, retirement, vacation, sick leave (except as required by law), or holiday pay programs.
• Relocation assistance is not provided; students are responsible for relocation costs if applicable.
