🌍 Role Overview

The Cluster Operations Leader is the senior infrastructure operations authority responsible for one or more Amazon data center clusters within a region. This leadership role oversees safety, security, availability, scaling, efficiency, and cost performance across facilities and colocations.

This is a high-impact executive-level operations position managing large teams and mission-critical infrastructure.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• Hire, lead, and develop operations teams (compute, engineering, logistics managers)
• Deliver regional performance goals across safety, uptime, efficiency, and cost
• Plan and execute infrastructure operations for new data center and colocation expansions
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, and control systems maintenance programs
• Manage colocation vendors to meet SLA performance targets
• Lead incident response, resolution, and operational recovery
• Drive continuous process improvement across operations

🎓 Basic Qualifications

✅ 10+ years leadership experience in:
• Data center operations
• Critical facilities engineering
• High-volume manufacturing or infrastructure environments

✅ Strong knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems:
UPS, generators, transformers, switchgear, chillers, air handling, PDUs, ATS, pumps

✅ Vendor and service provider management experience
✅ Continuous improvement leadership in technical environments

✔ Bachelor’s or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
✔ Experience scaling data center infrastructure or build-outs
