Job Summary

We are seeking a Backend Lead / Developer to design and develop large-scale enterprise software that supports digital platforms across Inspire Brands. The ideal candidate will lead backend development, mentor junior developers, and ensure robust, scalable, and secure software delivery. This role involves API integration, microservices architecture, cloud-native development, and participation in Agile teams to deliver innovative digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development: Build and enhance enterprise-scale backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and web services.
  • Agile Delivery: Collaborate with Agile/Scrum teams to define product backlog, sprint plans, and deliver high-quality features.
  • API Integration: Develop and integrate with system APIs for order fulfillment, content management, and enterprise services.
  • Documentation & Standards: Create technical documentation including code comments, architecture diagrams, and flow charts. Ensure adherence to corporate compliance and information security standards.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior developers through code reviews, best practices, and pattern reviews.
  • Maintenance & Roadmap: Contribute to ongoing maintenance, support, and the evolution of key digital technology platforms.
  • Software Patterns & Architecture: Design reusable software patterns to address critical business and technical challenges.
  • Continuous Delivery: Implement CI/CD automation, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and cloud-native DevOps practices.

Required Skills & Experience

Quality Assurance: Strong knowledge of Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s preferred.

Experience: Proven experience developing large-scale, highly transactional backend platforms.

Programming: Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, server-side JavaScript, Scala.

Microservices & APIs: Hands-on experience with REST, SOAP, microservices, Spring ecosystem.

Enterprise Architecture: Understanding of API-led architecture, middleware, SOA, and cloud-native DevOps (GCP preferred).

Databases: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

CI/CD & DevOps: Proficiency with Git, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, and cloud-native architectures.

Mentorship & Leadership: Experience mentoring junior developers and reviewing code for best practices and design patterns.

Agile: Demonstrated success working in Agile/Scrum teams.
