Job Summary

Syntricate Technologies Inc. is looking for three experienced Backend Java Developers with strong banking, financial, or capital markets experience. The role focuses on backend development using Java and Spring Boot, modernizing legacy systems, and maintaining high-performing, cloud-native services in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain backend services using Java 23 and Spring Boot 3.x.
  • Develop and evolve microservices and REST APIs.
  • Modernize legacy backend components while ensuring system stability.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas and queries.
  • Integrate services with AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge, etc.).
  • Apply event-driven and cloud-native patterns for scalability and resilience.
  • Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
  • Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve observability using New Relic and Elasticsearch.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Frontend, QA, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years working with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience in backend architecture, microservices, and design patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Solid SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker).
  • Recent experience in banking, financial services, or wealth management projects.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on engineer with ownership mindset and strong problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with legacy system modernization.
  • Knowledge of event-driven architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps observability tools: New Relic, Elasticsearch.
