We are seeking a skilled Junior Backend Engineer with strong experience in Python (FastAPI) and Java (Spring Boot) to build and maintain scalable backend services. The role involves integrating external AI APIs, designing robust RESTful services, and working with PostgreSQL databases to support high-performance applications.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI) and Java (Spring Boot).
• Integrate and manage external AI APIs (e. g., NLP, vision, generative AI services).
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs with proper authentication and security.
• Design, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and schemas.
• Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with frontend, AI/ML, and DevOps teams.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimise existing applications.
• Follow best practices for version control, CI/CD, and deployment.

Requirements
• Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience using FastAPI.
• Solid experience in Java and Spring Boot framework.
• Experience integrating third-party and external AI APIs.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (queries, indexing, performance tuning).
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth2 API keys).
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Experience with Docker and containerised deployments.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Exposure to message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and workflows.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 1-3 years of relevant backend development experience.
