🔹 Job Overview

Actalent is seeking a skilled Backend Developer to participate in all aspects of software development, including design, implementation, deployment, and architecture. You will transform and modernize existing systems, optimize for speed and scalability, and collaborate closely with designers, front-end engineers, and other back-end engineers to build reliable APIs and interfaces.

This is an onsite role in Rockford, IL with opportunities to work on global projects, particularly involving software transformation and cloud integration.

🔹 Responsibilities

  • Engage in full software development lifecycle: design, implementation, and deployment
  • Architect end-to-end systems optimized for speed, ease-of-use, and scalability
  • Collaborate with designers and front-end engineers to create reliable APIs and interfaces
  • Transform existing .NET/C# projects to other languages and AWS cloud tools, including S3 storage
  • Collaborate across time zones using GitHub and video conferencing
  • Enhance user experience and modernize applications for mobile compatibility

🔹 Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of back-end development experience
  • Experience building web applications
  • SQL development proficiency
  • Knowledge of AWS S3 and other Amazon cloud tools
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, AWS, IoT, React, and APIs

🔹 Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Coding coursework or equivalent practical experience is acceptable
  • Experience handling large volumes of equipment-generated data
  • Ability to enhance UI/UX and modernize web applications
