Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Back-End Data Developer to design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for data integration, migration, and transformation. The ideal candidate will have experience with both cloud and local ETL tools, Python scripting, relational databases, and spatial data sources.

Key Responsibilities

  1. ETL/ELT Development:
    • Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources into target databases or data warehouses.
    • Optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  2. Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:
    • Work with stakeholders to understand data integration needs and translate them into technical ETL requirements.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings to support data-driven initiatives.
  3. Cloud & Local Solutions:
    • Implement solutions using cloud platforms (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Google Cloud Dataflow) and on-prem/local tools (Apache NiFi, Talend, Informatica, custom scripts).
  4. Data Quality & Monitoring:
    • Ensure data quality and integrity with validation, error handling, and logging.
    • Monitor job execution, troubleshoot issues, debug pipelines, and perform performance tuning.
  5. Documentation & Best Practices:
    • Document ETL processes, data mappings, and system configurations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new tools.

Must-Have Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an ETL Developer or similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools/frameworks, cloud-based or local.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data manipulation.
  • Knowledge of spatial data sources and GIS concepts, including tools like PostGIS, GeoPandas, or ArcGIS.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and services (storage, compute, networking).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with stakeholders and teams.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, ClickHouse), NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), and traditional RDBMS.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate).
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data governance principles and regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA).
