About the Role:
We’re seeking an experienced and technically strong Azure Senior Data Engineer to join our growing cloud data engineering team. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in building and optimizing data pipelines, warehousing solutions, and real-time processing systems using Microsoft Azure’s ecosystem.
You’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance data infrastructure that drives business intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Databricks
- Develop ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and load structured and unstructured data
- Work with Azure Data Lake (Gen1/Gen2), Blob Storage, and Delta Lake for scalable storage solutions
- Create and optimize data models and schemas for analytics and reporting
- Monitor and maintain data pipeline performance, data quality, and system reliability
- Collaborate on DevOps practices for data engineering, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code (e.g., using Azure DevOps, Terraform)
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy, and security best practices (e.g., Azure Purview, RBAC)
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with at least 2+ years hands-on experience in Azure cloud services
- Deep proficiency in SQL, Python or Scala, and data modeling
- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, and Data Lake Storage
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and DevOps workflows in a cloud environment
- Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and metadata management tools on Azure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Power BI, Azure Stream Analytics, or real-time data ingestion (e.g., Kafka, Event Hubs)
- Azure certifications (e.g., DP-203: Data Engineering on Microsoft Azure)
- Experience in enterprise data lakehouse design or modern data architecture
- Exposure to security, encryption, and compliance practices in healthcare, finance, or regulated industries
