Job Summary

The Application Developer will work across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing AS400 iSeries applications, developing new programs, and ensuring alignment with business needs and ERP processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and clarify system requirements.
  • Translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
  • Develop, test, and deploy programs using RPG IV, Visual-RPG, and related AS400 technologies.
  • Create and execute unit and integration test scripts.
  • Maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot existing ERP and AS400 applications.
  • Participate in design meetings and provide input for system improvements.
  • Run knowledge transfer sessions with support teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Follow coding standards and best practices to ensure maintainable code.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding project statuses, outcomes, and technical decisions.
  • Provide technical solutions that optimize system performance, availability, and reliability.
  • Flexibility to support operations after hours, if required.
