Job Description

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse (Midwife) to join our women’s health team. As a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), you will provide comprehensive care to women throughout the lifespan, including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological services. You will work independently and collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and support staff to promote holistic, patient-centered care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery support, postpartum care, family planning, and routine gynecological exams
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of pregnant individuals, manage normal pregnancies and deliveries, and identify complications requiring medical consultation or referral
  • Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, contraception, and reproductive health
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Collaborate with OB-GYNs, nurses, doulas, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education, and community outreach as needed
  • Provide culturally sensitive care and demonstrate respect for patient autonomy and diversity in decision-making

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse-Midwifery program
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenses
  • National certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
  • Experience in providing labor and delivery services in hospital and/or birth center settings
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a practicing midwife (new graduates with strong clinical training also encouraged to apply)
  • Experience with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
  • Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish, Hindi, Arabic) are a plus
  • Interest in maternal health disparities, public health, or midwifery education
